Interactive training for Threat Awareness that uses scenarios to take users through the key elements of being prepared for and responding to threats. The interactive scenarios help embed the best practice relating to identifying security vulnerabilities, identifying threats and suspicious behaviour, response during incidents, evacuations, first aid and reporting of incidents.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the importance of following evacuation procedures during an emergency
- Identify the appropriate people to contact in an emergency, including how to contact them and the specific information they will require.
- List the five most crucial first aid aspects to remember in an emergency.
- Identify the primary terrorist security threats.
- List the actions to take if a person is acting suspiciously.
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities.
- List the three actions to take in the event of a terrorist attack.

- Threat Awareness for Healthcare Staff
Martyn’s Law, officially known as the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, is landmark UK legislation designed to improve public safety and security in venues and public spaces. Named after Martyn Hett, who tragically lost his life in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack, the law aims to ensure that venues and organisations are better prepared to respond to potential terrorist threats.
The law will require certain organisations and businesses to put in place proportionate security measures. These may include risk assessments, developing response plans, and—most importantly—ensuring staff are trained and aware of how to act in an emergency. A plan is only effective if the people responsible for carrying it out understand their role. Training equips staff with the knowledge and confidence to respond quickly and appropriately, potentially saving lives in critical situations.
Martyn’s Law will apply to a wide range of public spaces, from stadiums and entertainment venues to shopping centres and hospitals. The requirements will be tailored to the size and capacity of the venue, ensuring measures remain practical and effective.
By focusing on awareness, vigilance, and preparedness, Threat Awareness training helps organisations not only prepare to meet legal requirements but also create safer environments for staff, visitors, and communities.
